Have you ever thought about someone and wondered how they were doing? Maybe it's a friend you haven't talked to in a while, a family member you've been meaning to call, or a neighbour you haven't seen recently. You think about reaching out, but life gets busy, and somehow it gets pushed aside. We don't mean to ignore that nudge to reach out, often, it is simply because we get distracted by the demands of everyday life.
When this happens to me, I am reminded of this verse in the bible. "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."—Philippians 2:4. This verse spurs me on to put my agenda aside and take the step to reach out.
Small acts of kindness often have a greater impact than we realize. They remind people they are seen, remembered, and loved. A simple message. A quick phone call. A handwritten note. A thoughtful gift. Small gestures may not seem like much, but they have a way of reminding people they are seen, valued, and loved.
Proverbs 11:25 reminds us, "Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." It feels good to put a smile on someone's face as they realize that someone cares.
Who have you been thinking about? Perhaps today is the day to reach out.
Sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference.
